Camera Vehicle Preparation

Home » Camera Vehicle Preparation

With our very real anticipation to get out to some iconic locations in the next year in the Adventra’s just to see where we really can take it, how far we can push them we have welcomed a new vehicle to our setup one that will carry all our camera gear and act as an additional life support vehicle so we can place ourselves in situations to push the limits of the Adventra’s we take off road.

As some of you might recall late in 2020 our recovery purpose Prado 4wd owned by Will on our channel broke down and the Adventra had to tow the Prado off the track and out of the bush and onto bitumen for a tow home. Our only biggest issue with this was the Adventra is not legally rated to tow the Prado home on a car trailer and this gave us a thought to really consider the purchase of 4wd owned by the channel should we ever need a vehicle for that purpose ever again so we decided to buy a new entry level 4wd.

Pictured here is at Hampton Park Tyre and Auto our 2021 Toyota Fortuner with only 500km’s on the clock had a new set of Pirelli AT Plus 265/70/17 an all terrain tire on dynamic steel rims.

For now this is a standard height Fortuner and as standard comes equipped with a rear locker and have the basic properties of a entry level 4wd vehicle which suits perfect for our requirements as a camera vehicle and tow vehicle should we ever need it.

We are also doubling this vehicle up as 2nd recovery vehicle should our primary recovery Prado need some assistance. It will feature a winch, dual battery setup, snorkel, navigation plotters & planners both electronic and paper, 4g repeater and satellite communication equipment so no matter where we are we will be equipped, charged and ready to film whilst having all the safety and support we may need when we are on our very remote trips for anything that may go wrong.
